The ZIM SAMMY OFER took on LNG at its Latin-American hub at Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited (KFTL) thus initiating similar operations on ZIM’s fleet of ten 15,000 teu LNG dual-fuel containerships serving the ZIM Container Service Pacific (ZCP) trade route. ZIM recently inked a 10-year sales and purchase agreement with Shell for these 10 ships.Kingston is a new LNG bunkering location for Shell which has now has 16 LNG bunkering operations at 16 locations in 11 countries.The process involved in this historic event was completed with the collaboration of the Maritime Authority of Jamaica.
