In October 2014, the very first edition of Portside Caribbean rolled off the press.
It was immediately circulated to port managers and shipping executives across the Caribbean, North, Central and South America. It was ultimately to reach audiences in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. An independent publication endorsed by the Port Management Association of the Caribbean, Portside Caribbean declared a mission of “empowerment” of persons and organisations across four language groups in and around the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, whose singular and collective efforts help to keep national economies in production, and whose knowledge, proficiency and capabilities are imperatives for growth. That mission required a fundamental change in outlook to focus on the issues and effectiveness of port operations; both the people and the installations they manage. Many of those persons from the English, French, Spanish and Dutch Caribbean are represented in this photo review covering the first five years of publishing Portside Caribbean.
