The ferry connecting Guyana and Suriname was set to resume on September 26, 2019 having been suspended on May 27 ‘until further notice’.

The Canawaima ferry had been experiencing mechanical difficulties for some time and was taken out of service. The Management of the Guyana/Suriname Ferry Services stated that as of September 26, 2019, the M.B.

Sandaka will be in operation between Guyana and Suriname ‘until further notice’. Guyana’s Ministry of Public Infrastructure said that the ferry would depart Moleson Creek Terminal – Guyana at 9:00 hrs. (check-in: 06:30hrs to 08:00hrs) and depart South Drain - Suriname at 11:30hrs (check-in: 08:00hrs to 10:00hrs). All schedules are local times. —
