TUGS: SVITZER EXPANDS PRESENCE

Svitzer has been expanding its presence in the Caribbean market for tugboat services. Its presence is increasingly obvious in the Caribbean oil sector,

especially since the recent signing of a five-year contract between Svitzer Caribbean Dominicana and TUGS: SVITZER EXPANDS PRESENCE Limetree Bay Refining, LLC in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. The contract came into force on June 15, 2019. The company is already providing tugboat services to South Riding Point Terminal in Bahamas, Nustar Terminal in Statia, Buckeye Terminal in Saint Lucia and now Limetree Bay Refining. Svitzer Caribbean Dominicana will operate two tugs under this contract and at press time was preparing to deliver for a mid-June start-up in St. Croix where the company has been providing Limetree Bay Refining with tug services (on a spot basis) since 2017.
