The US Virgin Islands Governor Kenneth E. Mapp has announced plans for upgrading infrastructure and creating additional berthing capacity to accommodate larger cruise vessels at Crown Bay and at the West Indian Company (WICO) docks.
In September last, Govern Mapp and members of the Ports of the Virgin Islands team outlined project plans for dredging, to be funded through the first phase of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). This will allow Quantum Class ships to dock on the north side at Crown Bay and Oasis Class vessels to berth at the WICO docks .
